How to configure iPhone Mail
This guide explains how to add your Business Email mailbox to the Mail app on an iPhone or iPad, with IMAP and SMTP settings that match the table below.
Before you begin
- A Business Email mailbox and its password. See How to create an email account.
- The mailbox username shown in the Business Email Panel.
- The settings below. For what IMAP and SMTP do, see IMAP and SMTP settings.
Settings you need
| Setting | Value |
|---|---|
| Incoming mail (IMAP) | Server mail.apncloud.com, port 993, SSL/TLS |
| Outgoing mail (SMTP) | Server mail.apncloud.com, port 465 with SSL/TLS, or port 587 with STARTTLS |
| Username | The mailbox username shown in the Business Email Panel |
| Password | The password you set for the mailbox |
Steps
- Open Settings on your iPhone.
- Tap Mail, then Accounts, then Add Account.
- Choose Other, then tap Add Mail Account.
- Enter your name, full email address, password and a description, then tap Next.
- Choose IMAP.
- Enter the incoming and outgoing server settings from the table above.
- Tap Next. If iPhone asks for more information, choose Advanced and check that the ports and SSL/TLS settings match the table.
- Keep the account switched on for Mail, then send a test message.
Match the table exactly
iPhone Mail sometimes fills in its own defaults. Check that the server is mail.apncloud.com, and that the ports and security options match the table.
Expected result
The Mail app shows your Business Email inbox, and the test message arrives.
If something goes wrong
- The account will not connect. Check the username and password, then try again.
- You skipped a certificate warning. Read Email authentication errors and check the server name.
- Sending fails. Read Email not sending.
