Manage hosting DNS records

DNS Management edits the hosting zone. It changes public DNS only when the domain’s authoritative nameservers serve that zone.

Before you begin

Use the APNCloud Hosting Panel. The tools available to you depend on account permissions and the plan. If an option is missing, ask support whether your service includes it.

Steps

  1. Check the domain’s active nameservers using Find your DNS provider. If DNS is hosted elsewhere, edit records there instead.
  2. Open DNS Management and choose the correct domain. Save a copy of the current records.
  3. Add or edit only the intended record. Use the destination, record type, priority and TTL supplied for your service.
  4. Keep unrelated website, mail and verification records. Do not add a second SPF record.
  5. Save, then check the record at the authoritative provider and after the previous TTL has expired.
  6. Test both the website and email after any change. If moving DNS to Cloudflare, copy mail and other required records before changing nameservers.

Check the result

Test the intended task and unrelated website and email functions. If a tool is missing or the result is unexpected, keep the error and time and contact support instead of guessing server-wide settings.
