Optimize Vue
Optimize the production build and the pages visitors actually load. Development-server results do not represent production performance.
Measure before changing settings
Back up the site, choose a repeatable page or API request, and record load time, server response time, errors, memory and CPU use. Test while signed out and signed in. Change one thing at a time on staging before applying it to production.
Steps
- Deploy the production build and inspect transferred JavaScript, images and fonts with browser tools.
- Split large routes with dynamic imports. Load optional features only when needed and avoid importing entire libraries for one helper.
- Keep props stable where useful, profile expensive reactive work, and virtualize long lists instead of rendering thousands of rows.
- Size images and avoid layout shifts. Cache versioned static assets for longer, while letting the entry HTML update promptly.
- If search visibility or first content is a problem, evaluate static generation or server rendering. A server-rendered mode may need a Node.js runtime.
- Test a direct visit and refresh on every route, keyboard access, a slower connection and a low-powered phone after optimization.
Check the result
Repeat the same measurements and confirm login, forms, uploads and checkout still work. Keep the change only if it improves the measured problem without causing errors. Clear only the relevant cache and keep a rollback copy.
